James Feldkamp
Naval Flight Officer
James Feldkamp has carved a multidimensional career spanning the U.S. Navy, the FBI, electoral politics, and academic instruction. Initially a Counter-Measures Officer and Navigator for the U.S. Navy's EA-6B electronic warfare aircraft, he was part of the USS Midway's deployment during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1991.
Subsequently joining the Naval Reserves, he became an FBI Special Agent based in Norfolk, Virginia. In this role, he was crucial in launching the Joint Counter Terrorism Task Force. Additionally, he was among a select group of pilots tasked with conducting aerial surveillance for criminal and anti-terrorism operations.
On the political front, he ran as the Republican candidate for Oregon's 4th Congressional District in the 2004 and 2006 elections. In 2007, he was called back to active naval reserve duty to contribute to the formative stages of the National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office (NMIO). His work here involved facilitating the exchange of non-classified maritime intelligence across various governmental and international agencies.
Currently, he serves as a Subject Matter Expert at Georgetown University, developing a course called "Terrorism and Unconventional Threats." His academic contributions extend to prior adjunct professorships at George Mason and George Washington Universities, where he focused on terrorism-related courses. Feldkamp,s academic portfolio is further enriched by his authorship and editing of a textbook that examines the "Theory and Politics of Terrorism."
